Note
User provisioning via Azure AD is no longer the preferred method. Please visit the new SCIM integration page for detailed instructions on setting up user provisioning with SCIM.
Info
More information about user provisioning and user authentication with Asset can be found via the general User provisioning and authentication article.
The Azure AD user provisioning with Asset is an outdated integration. It was set up using complex scripts and templates within Asset. This approach has several limitations:
- It does not support nested groups (groups within groups).
- The default integration works well for customers with fewer than 1.000 users. For customers with more than 1.000 users, a custom integration was required. This involved adding custom scripts, fields, and schedulers to handle the larger user base.
Because SCIM user provisioning with Asset was not available, this outdated method was the only option for integrating Azure user provisioning.
