After reading this article, you’ll be able to:
- interpret data from the Reservation Insights dashboard
Reservation Insights dashboard provides insight in the historical reservation data from the viewpoint of reservable spaces (ROOMS and WORKPLACES):
- How often and long are these booked per day? (= “utilization time”)
- How many of the available are booked simultaneously (= “booking rate”)
Historical data means that the Reservations Insights dashboard will load data from 12 months ago, until yesterday.
Info
Reservation Insights covers only Rooms and Workplaces, not Equipment or Services.
Metric definitions
- Reservable Items: number of reservable rooms and workplaces
- Reservations: number of reservations that were NOT cancelled
- Avg daily reservation time (h): Avg hours reserved, per reservable item and per day
per day and per reservable item, it’s the sum of all reservation durations
- with averages per location (across al reservable items for that location) and/or per period (day/week/month/quarter)
- with sub-metric “Avg daily reservation rate (%)”:
per day and per reservable item, it’s the sum of all reservation durations divided by the business hours (e.g. 4 hours reservation duration / 8 business hours = 50%)
- can be over 100% in case when an item is reserved for a period longer than the business hours
-
Avg booking rate: Nr of simultaneously reserved items / total nr of reservable items -> calculated per hourly timeslot
e.g. when there are 100 workplaces and 25 are reserved on 01-05-2026 at 09:00am then for this timeslot, booking rate = 25/100 = 25%
- with averages per location (across al reservable items for that location) and/or per period (day/week/month/quarter)
-
with sub-metric “Daily peak booking rate”
Booking rates are calculated per timeslot (= calendar date + hour of day)
- Consequently, the figures vary during a business day. Peaks are often found around 10:00am and 14:00pm and values are lower at the start and at the end of a business day.
-
Daily peak booking rate = the highest booking rate found during 1 day
with averages per location (across al reservable items for that location) and/or per period (day/week/month/quarter)
-
with sub-metric “Highest peak booking rate”
on a timeline, this is the highest value of “Daily peak booking rate”

values lower that 1h/day are highlighted in red
- additionally, all the reservable items that are booked less than 1h/day are listed in the table “Least popular”.
- Avg daily reservation rate (pct) → relative value, divided by nr of business hours per day
- Total reservations during the observed date range
