Increased mail security for the @axxerion.com and @axxerion.us domains from February 1st, 2026

Introduction

Spacewell will implement stricter checks on SPF-records and DMARC-records for incoming mails to the @axxerion.com and @axxerion.us domains. SPF and DMARC help to make sure that incoming mails come from trusted sources. Thus, they help prevent mail spoofing and phishing attacks.

Note

Make sure to check an update your settings before February 1st, 2026.

What to check?

We ask our customers to check whether they use mail collectors in Axxerion. Specifically: Do you or your customers have a process that sends mails to one of the addresses below, with a tag, to automatically create / update objects in Axxerion? E.g. invoices, requests, workorders are send to a general email from the list below.

What to do?

If you use mail collectors in Axxerion, it is important that you set up SPF records and DMARC records in the DNS settings of your mail domain.

  • An SPF record is a text record that indicates which source IP addresses are allowed to send mail originating from a domain.
  • A DMARC record is a text record that indicates how SPF record violations must be handled.

Your IT administrator can set up SPF records and DMARC records for your domain.

Impact

When the stricter SPF and DMARC checks have been implemented, it is possible that mails to @axxerion.com and @axxerion.us mail addresses will be rejected. This means that a mail collector will no longer be able to create / update objects based on tags in mails.

Background information

Axxerion and mail

The stricter SPF and DMARC checks can affect so-called mail collectors in Axxerion. A mail collector is a functionality in Axxerion that can create objects (e.g. requests) based on incoming mail with a specific tag.

Mail collector

A mail collector works as follows:

  • A mail is sent to a specific mail address (such as inbox08@axxerion.com), with a tag, a 10-letter code.
  • Axxerion reads the email and finds the associated object type (e.g. requests) according to the tag.
  • Axxerion creates a new request based on the contents of the mail or adds it to an existing request.

What is SPF?

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) verifies that mails are sent from authorized servers for your domain. SPF is like a “guest list” for the mail servers that are allowed to send email for your domain. When someone receives an email claiming to be from you, their mail server checks that guest list to see if the server that sent it is actually allowed to do so.

Why SPF matters

Without SPF, anyone on the internet can send an email that looks like it came from your domain, which is how phishing and spoofing work. With SPF in place, many forged emails get blocked or flagged, protecting your brand and improving the chances that your real emails land in the inbox instead of spam.

What is DMARC?

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is a protocol to prevent spoofing (where the alleged sender of a mail is not really the sender). DMARC is like a set of “rules for bouncers” that tells receiving mail servers what to do with emails that pretend to be from your domain but fail the checks you’ve defined.

Why DMAC matters

Attackers often send emails that look like they come from your domain (spoofing) to trick people into clicking links or giving up passwords and money. DMARC lets you largely stop this by instructing other servers to distrust and dispose of emails that fail authentication, which protects your users and your brand reputation.
